Japanese artist Manabu Ikeda unveiled his masterwork "Rebirth" today.

Japanese artist Manabu Ikeda unveiled his masterwork “Rebirth” today. He was artist-in-residence for three years at the Chazen while working on this single artwork. It’s 130 square feet of canvas, and it’s a mind-blowing work of art. Rebirth is showing in Gallery XVII on the third floor of the Chazen only for three weeks. Ikeda logged 9,600 hours working on this piece. At least 150 people turned out for the unveiling this afternoon, which was a good turnout this close to the holiday.
