I’ve lived on Madison’s northside for two years. It’s the most varied neighborhood in the city. There are million dollar homes and the governor’s mansion and some violent apartment complexes with a lot of shootings. I live on a quiet street somewhere in the middle of that contrast.
But mostly these days the northside is resurgent. A few months after I moved here, the Willy Street Co-op opened their third location here, and there’s been a steady stream of new businesses and restaurants opening since then. It feels like a good time to be a northsider.
